1st XPDC...

woohoo! our first expedition was a great one today. =) we managed to go to 6 masjid in the Northern area of sg. they are:
1. An Nahdhah... located at Bishan St 14, it has a 'modern' feel to it. there's a lift that serves the basement (where the carpark is) thru level 4 (where the rooftop is). they even have graffiti on the wall! coolness! there's also a Harmony Centre but it was closed so we didn't get to see the exhibition in there.

2. Al Muttaqin... located at Ang Mo Kio Central Ave 6. no lift here but there is a badminton court. i think this masjid is rather cosy. my 2nd cousin shot a pix that made it look like a home (with curtains and chandelier). (' ',)

3. Masjid Ahmad Ibrahim... located at Jalan Ulu Seletar has a silver dome that really catches the eye. the prayer hall has airconditioning (but it was not turned on... at least not in the ladies' prayer hall. i'm not sure about the men's prayer hall coz i didn't go in).

4. Darul Makmur... located at Yishun Ave 2. i love the mural they did of a few masjid. i also love the cartoonized people on the a.L.I.V.E noticeboard. ;) my 2nd cuzins even reminisced about their days of attending the weekend madrasah there.

5. Masjid Pertempatan Melayu Sembawang... located at Jalan Mempurong (it's somewhere near Bottle Tree Village) is a small masjid and is very ol' skool. ;) there's a herb garden next to the male toilet/ablution area. i like the concept of trust that the masjid have. there's this fridge well stocked with canned drinks and you just take one and make a dollar donation in the money box near the fridge. cool eh?

6. Assyafaah... located at Admiralty Lane. we had a 'guide' to bring us around the masjid. ;D so it was a rather thorough tour. this masjid has a rather 'futuristic' look. there's also a pond with koi fishes swimming around in it. nice!

we started at about 1030 and ended at around 1550. not too bad eh? next one is schedule on 27th Feb. yeah! looking forward to that.
